Volleyball Time

Yesterday we went to see some of my 7th grade girls play volleyball at the middle school. They didn't win any of the games but we had a fun time watching them. We got to see my friend Angela, her husband Mike, and their son Thatcher aka Boogie. Brant had a great time cheering for the Wildcats, and kept saying "Go, Cats!" He was terrified of the buzzer that kept going off during the game and would clutch one of us close. I took a picture of him with one of my old students Steve, and he was still scared from the buzzer that just sounded so he looks upset in the picture. Here are a few pictures.

Busy Weekend

This weekend went by so fast because we stayed pretty busy. On Saturday we had Little Gym in the morning and went straight from there all the way to McKinney for a birthday party. After the birthday party we had to swing by Jason's work because someone from work had locked up his keys in his work truck and needed a spare, but luckily someone else was able to bring him the keys from that point. We were in the car for what felt like forever and Brant only took about a 30 minute cat nap in the car and was wide awake until bedtime. We also went back to Little Gym for their party to sign Brant up for two more semesters at a great rate and he got to play some more at little gym. Sunday we went out to breakfast at IHOP and then came home for some playtime, during which he took the chance to put on his Daddy's work boots and clomp around the house in them. After his nap we went to Aunt Mo's house to see Riley's room and play with some of his toys and with Sarah. Brant was so amazed to be able to play with a dog that would play back. Then we went home and played for a little while before bedtime. We were all tired after this long weekend and Mommy fell asleep on the couch just after half-time while watching the Cowboys game. Here are some pictures and some video from this weekend.

Are you ready for some football?

Brant went with Jason and I to go see my 7th graders play football at the middle school. I was very happy to see some of my kids from last year and I miss them (they were the best group I've had since starting teaching). Brant kept going back and forth between Jason and I and did a great job cheering on the team yelling "go, go, go","defense" and sometimes just "fence" he also happily clapped and jumped up and down when they scored two different touchdowns while we were there. We left halfway through the game since they started late and we had to go get dinner. I have a few pictures I took on my cellphone and a short video clip from the game. Hopefully he'll have as much fun when I attempt to take him to see my girls play volleyball sometime soon.

Ringing & Singing

Brant had a blast at Little Gym on Saturday because they had something new to explore...rings. They had a child sized version of rings for the kids to hang and swing on and explore. It took Brant a while to warm up to wanting to swing on it, and Jason and I took turns holding his legs up and swinging him on the rings, but by the end of the class (which is only 45 minutes) he was swinging on his own like a champ. I am always surprised at how fast he catches on to things and is always wanting to try new things. He finds new ways to amaze me each and every day. Brant also had fun this weekend singing different things to the tune of his favorite song Twinkle Twinkle or the Alphabet song, but instead sang Mama Mama this weekend. Here is a video of Brant singing his Mama Mama song.

Rock n Roll Boys

This morning we went out again for breakfast. This time we all went to IHOP. Brant did a great job eating his chocolate pancakes eggs and bacon. He did decide that he didn't like the sausage and didn't eat more than one bite of it. After breakfast we went to Academy to go get some new shoes for Daddy and Mommy. The store wasn't open yet so we waited in the parking lot for about 15-20 minutes. While we were waiting we listened to the radio and Daddy started singing along and dancing, and of course Brant joined in while in his car seat. I shot some video of Brant doing his version of his Daddy's dance, but I didn't get any video of Daddy (you can hear him singing in the background and prompting him at the end on what to say). Here are some pictures from breakfast and the video from in the truck.

Haircut and Messy Lunch

Today was a very busy morning. First Brant woke us up and we went to have breakfast at Sonic. Then we went to Little Gym for our Saturday class and had fun playing on the air track (this is that air mat you'll see him jumping on in previous pictures from Little Gym) and all over the equipment. Then we stopped to get Angel some dog food and made her an appointment for the afternoon for a check-up, and from the vet's office we went to get Jason's allergy shot. After we got through getting Daddy his shot (during which Brant had fun roaming around between Mommy and Daddy with a magazine and talking with some people who live near our house) we went to Kid to Kid and got Brant a few new clothes. We weren't done yet though, because then we went and got Brant a haircut and then we went to Joe's for lunch. Brant had a great time eating pizza and spaghetti. After lunch we finally went home and Brant went down for his nap. I took some pictures of him getting his haircut, eating his sucker for being a good boy while he got his haircut, and at lunch. Here are the pictures from today.

Swimming at Uncle Barry's House

Uncle Barry needed some help setting up the wiring with his TV and some of his other things together (DVD player, receiver, etc.) and he called to ask Jason for help. Since Uncle Barry and Aunt Lisa have a pool Mommy and Brant went swimming in the pool while Daddy helped Uncle Barry with his TV. Brant had a lot of fun playing with the balls that Uncle Barry had in his pool. He loved the small basketball and basketball hoop that Uncle Barry had set up by the pool's edge. Brant did make a basket, but Mommy didn't have her camera handy. He also loved the ducks and dolphin that were floating in the pool and kept taking water out of the pool using the dolphin and made quite a watery mess to be cleaned up. We didn't stay in the pool long, but we had a fun time while we were in it. Thanks Uncle Barry for letting us use your pool!
