Mimi & New Boots

Brant got to visit with his Mimi on Saturday when she was in town from Florida. She played with him, gave him snuggles and eskimo kisses and had lunch with Brant, Mommy, and Daddy at Zio's. Mimi brough him a pair of cowboy boots from a friend of hers in Florida. Brant tried them on and was walking around the house in them wearing his shorts. The boots are a little big, but I'm sure with the way he is growing they will be too small in no time. We are glad that Brant got to visit with his Mimi since he doesn't get to see her too often. Hopefully he will get to see her more when she comes back in June, and then we are going to take him to Florida to see his Mimi at her house and he'll get to see a beach for the first time. Here are some pictures of Brant in his boots and with his Mimi.

Happy Easter from the Allens

Our family is truly thankful for all of our blessings especially at this time of year. We hope you are all having a wonderful Easter.

Easter Sunday Egg Hunt

Soon after we got home from church Brant found a stash of eggs from the Easter bunny in the living room. He had a great time finding the eggs (there were 52) and shaking them to see if there was something inside them. Here are some pictures and video from this morning.

The Hot Dog Dance

Brant LOVES to watch Mikey Mouse Clubhouse and he really loves the Hot Dog song and dance at the end of each episode. Every time we turn on the show he starts saying "Hot Dog, Hot Dog" wanting the Hot Dog song and dance. I captured some video of him dancing in his pajamas to the Hot Dog song and put several clips together into one so you'll get more of an idea of what he does.

Here he is with the Hot Dog Dance:

New Starbucks Addict

After we left Brant's school today we went to Target to do a little shopping and stopped in the Starbucks inside the target to share a vanilla creme frappuccino. He LOVED it of course. I don't like coffee, so this had no coffee in it and it is just made with milk so at least he isn't a coffee drinker yet. I have a feeling he'll be asking me to stop for these more often. Here he is in the car enjoying his small portion of the vanilla frappuccino.

Bunny Boy

After the egg hunt, it was time to do crafts in Brant's class so they made bunny ear hats and got their faces painted with a pink bunny nose and bunny wiskers. Here is my adorable little bunny man with and without his ears.

Easter Egg Hunt!

I took Brant to school today to participate in the Easter Egg hunt they were going to have. The rain the day before (it rained all day long) kept it from being outside and the kids had to have the egg hunt inside instead. I helped his teachers "hide" the eggs and then took pictures of Brant finding the eggs. He had such a great time. I am so glad that I was off work this week to be able to bring him and particpate and be able to share pictures of this event on the blog with all of you. Here is my little egg hunter at work:

Here is classroom before the kids came in to hunt for eggs.

Look Mom, I found another one!

The Next American Idol?

Well Brant does like to show off and sing. He was playing with one of his toys (you will see it on the video clip) and singing along. I sang with him a few times, but it was so cute I got out the video camera to tape him but he didn't want to show off anymore. I told him to show off for his Mimi in Florida and so he climbed back on the table for an encore. Here he is with his mixed version of "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep".

Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo Brant is TWO!

We had Brant's Thomas the Train themed birthday party yesterday at our house. It was a small group of people and that made it all the more fun for Brant. He had his two favorite female playmates Claire and Emily, and my teammate at school Cody's daugher Katie Gordon (yes she goes by both names like Mary Kate). The girls and Brant colored wooden trains, played in Brant's playroom, played in his Thomas pop-up tent that he got for Christmas, and of course there were snacks, presents, and CAKE! Brant did a great job opening his presents while he sat with his Daddy. He also was such a good boy eating the majority of his cake with his fork so he didn't get near as messy as last year even though he did want to dive straight into the cake after blowing out the candles (thank goodness Daddy got it away quickly). We all had a great time and look forward to what this year will bring our big boy!

Here are some pictures from the party.

Easter Egg Scramble, but No Eggs.

We went to the Easter Egg Scramble at Bear Creek Park today. We got there about 10 minutes late, and so we missed our time to go on the Egg Hunt for Brant's age group. We went to go get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny, but Brant was terrified of him so he sat in Mommy's lap for a picture and still wasn't very happy about it. He was thrilled though about getting two balloons at the park, even though he lost his first one. He has had a great time playing with the balloon on the way to the car and at home today. Here are some of the pictures from the park this morning.

Brant was still unhappy about being near the Easter Bunny when we tried to take this one.
