Bunny Boy

After the egg hunt, it was time to do crafts in Brant's class so they made bunny ear hats and got their faces painted with a pink bunny nose and bunny wiskers. Here is my adorable little bunny man with and without his ears.

Easter Egg Hunt!

I took Brant to school today to participate in the Easter Egg hunt they were going to have. The rain the day before (it rained all day long) kept it from being outside and the kids had to have the egg hunt inside instead. I helped his teachers "hide" the eggs and then took pictures of Brant finding the eggs. He had such a great time. I am so glad that I was off work this week to be able to bring him and particpate and be able to share pictures of this event on the blog with all of you. Here is my little egg hunter at work:

Here is classroom before the kids came in to hunt for eggs.

Look Mom, I found another one!

What's in this egg?

Ooh! More eggs!

Look Mommy, check out my basket full of eggs!

Is there anything good in this one?

I found another one!

Now, I'll investigate what's inside them all!

Enjoying the fruit snacks from one of the eggs, yum!

The Next American Idol?

Well Brant does like to show off and sing. He was playing with one of his toys (you will see it on the video clip) and singing along. I sang with him a few times, but it was so cute I got out the video camera to tape him but he didn't want to show off anymore. I told him to show off for his Mimi in Florida and so he climbed back on the table for an encore. Here he is with his mixed version of "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep".

Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo Brant is TWO!

We had Brant's Thomas the Train themed birthday party yesterday at our house. It was a small group of people and that made it all the more fun for Brant. He had his two favorite female playmates Claire and Emily, and my teammate at school Cody's daugher Katie Gordon (yes she goes by both names like Mary Kate). The girls and Brant colored wooden trains, played in Brant's playroom, played in his Thomas pop-up tent that he got for Christmas, and of course there were snacks, presents, and CAKE! Brant did a great job opening his presents while he sat with his Daddy. He also was such a good boy eating the majority of his cake with his fork so he didn't get near as messy as last year even though he did want to dive straight into the cake after blowing out the candles (thank goodness Daddy got it away quickly). We all had a great time and look forward to what this year will bring our big boy!

Here are some pictures from the party.

Easter Egg Scramble, but No Eggs.

We went to the Easter Egg Scramble at Bear Creek Park today. We got there about 10 minutes late, and so we missed our time to go on the Egg Hunt for Brant's age group. We went to go get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny, but Brant was terrified of him so he sat in Mommy's lap for a picture and still wasn't very happy about it. He was thrilled though about getting two balloons at the park, even though he lost his first one. He has had a great time playing with the balloon on the way to the car and at home today. Here are some of the pictures from the park this morning.

Brant was still unhappy about being near the Easter Bunny when we tried to take this one.

Texas SNOW in March?

Wow, I couldn't believe how much snow we got yesterday. We got several inches that actually stuck around overnight and into the following day. I took Brant outside to play in the snow and he had a great time stomping in the snow, running through the snow, throwing the snow into the air and saying it was rain, and just exploring through the pretty blanket of white all over the backyard yesterday. Here are some of the pictures.

Chartity Basketball game

Last week Brant and I attended a Hoops for Heart game with our school (Chisholm Trail Intermediate) competing against Trinity Meadows Intermediate. The game was packed and was standing room only. We stayed until half-time and Brant had a great time waving a pennant, jumping up and down on my legs, and yelling yes and no at the appropriate times. Unfortunately we did lose by a large margin, but our school had the most spirit and heart, and hopefully we'll beat them next year. He was so pumped up when we got home we had a hard time getting him to bed that night, but I think it was worth it. Since it was just us I couldn't handle my camera too, but luckily one of my sweet students let one of her friends borrow her camera and she took our picture. Here we are having a great time in the stands.
